In the Piedmont Region, we have grown our local food system in ways some could not imagine. New farmers’ markets, more young and diversifying farmers, and a strong demand for good tasting, healthy, farm fresh foods have pushed us to the forefront of the local food movement. We are all grateful for the vibrant new energy that every individual offers the quest for more sustainable and resilient farming systems.
If you are involved with food at any point from farm to fork, consider partnering with us as we go forward. Together, we can continue to develop our regional food system in a way that builds on our strong farming heritage and our locally strong markets to bring economic opportunities to local businesses, entrepreneurs, and farmers.
Our certification program allows you to use the Piedmont Grown brand and logo as part of your marketing efforts. Within the coming year, we plan to offer mini-grants to help support your efforts to highlight Piedmont Grown products in your marketing program. In addition, we hope to develop a regional farm to trade program that brings together producers, farmers, chefs, institutional food service professionals, food brokers and wholesalers, as well as retail grocers.
